Justin Ras
Justin, a proud member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and resident of Lame Deer, Montana, is a filmmaker and advocate dedicated to amplifying Indigenous perspectives and addressing critical community issues. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from the University of Montana.
With over five years of frontline experience in grassroots efforts, Justin has been instrumental in planning and organizing events, fundraisers, and advocacy initiatives for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP). His commitment to this cause is further demonstrated through his filmmaking, where he creates compelling content that raises awareness about MMIP, tribal culture and history, and violence against women.
Justin's professional background includes collaborations with the Montana State Parks Foundation and Fire Brand Media. In these roles, he has consistently focused on projects that highlight Indigenous narratives and promote cultural understanding.
Through his multifaceted work, Justin continues to be a vital advocate for Indigenous communities, using his artistic talents and organizational skills to drive positive change and foster greater awareness of pressing social issues.
