Seven years is too long to wait for justice.

Pretty Eagle Woman Resources Foundation invites families, community members, advocates, and allies to join us for the 7th Annual Justice for Kaysera Rally, honoring the life of Pretty Eagle Woman (Kaysera Stops Pretty Places) and continuing the call for justice and accountability in her unresolved murder.

August carries both love and heartbreak for Kaysera’s family. On August 14, we celebrate Kaysera’s birthday and remember the beautiful young woman she was and the life she should still be living. Just fifteen days later, on August 29, we mourn the day her body was found in 2019 a date that forever changed her family and community.

This year, we will hold the rally on Friday, August 28, a regular workday, so our voices are heard when Big Horn County offices are open. We want county officials to see our families, hear our concerns, and understand that seven years later, we are still here demanding answers, accountability, and justice for Kaysera.

Kaysera was only 18 years old when she was murdered in August 2019. Seven years later, her family continues to seek answers and accountability while standing alongside other families impacted by the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis.

The Justice for Kaysera Rally is a time to remember Kaysera, keep her story visible, stand with MMIP families, and bring attention to the continuing failures that Indigenous families face when seeking justice for their loved ones.

We invite MMIP families to bring banners, posters, and signs honoring their missing or murdered loved ones so that their names, faces, and stories are seen and remembered.

An open mic will be available for families to share their loved ones’ stories and their journeys seeking justice, creating space for families to be heard, supported, and surrounded by community.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Together, we will continue calling for accountability from the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, Big Horn County Attorney’s Office, Montana Department of Justice, and U.S. Department of Justice, while demanding meaningful action for Kaysera and all Missing and Murdered Indigenous People.

Kaysera mattered then. She still matters now.
